07.01.21 Whole School Introducing Myself:

Dear Parents/carers

I am writing to introduce myself as the newest member of the SENCO team. My name is Mrs Allen and I already work within the Academy at one of the other schools.   I have been a SENCo for 15 years working across a variety of primary schools within Essex.  I am excited about joining the team here and getting to know you and your children.

I will be working at Rayne Primary on a Monday and am contactable then if needed, but please remember that Mrs Turner is here Monday to Thursday.

If you have a child who is currently on the SEN register, I will be in contact with you over the next couple of weeks to see how things are going.

I look forward to getting to know you all.

Mrs Anika Allen

31.12.20 Whole School Important School Update:

Dear Parents/Carers,

Following last night's announcement by the Government, we want to confirm that our school is on the list of those that must delay the start of face to face learning next week.  We do understand that this decision has not been taken lightly and is to ensure the safety of the local community over the next few weeks.  As you will be aware we have invested in a fantastic on-line learning platform so we will be well placed to ensure all children will be catered for.

The senior leadership team are meeting today to make all the necessary arrangements for our school and these will be communicated via parent-mail so that all families can feel prepared going forward.

We thank you in advance for your support.

Kind regards,

Mrs M Keeling

11.12.20 Maple Class Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: Dear Maple Class Parents, As you will no doubt have seen and heard, the children have been doing drama this week in English, and are performing different scenes from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to be filmed during this week and put on DB Primary. We have also learnt about costumes and props and would like to use these when we begin filming to help us to get into character. The characters are all real people and the props should be things they can bring in from home without ANY PURCHASES made. Please can you talk with your child about their character and provide the following named items for their scene. Willy Wonka- Smart or school clothes without jumper (hat provided by school), Mums- A dress/necklaces/bracelets/handbag, Violet/Verucca- dress, Mike/Augustus- male clothes to suit character description, Charlie- older looking clothes, Dads- smart or school clothes without jumper. Please help your child learn to their lines without their scripts too. We appreciate your support with this and really hope you enjoy their efforts. Mrs Anderson and Mrs White

This is an extremely generous thought and in no way an expectation. However, if you would like to, please could we ask that any gifts are brought in to school no later than Wednesday 16th December. This is so that anything can be quarantined for the required two days for everyone’s safety. Unfortunately, this year, to help keep everyone safe, we will be unable to allow children to exchange gifts from pupil to pupil so we hope you are able to arrange for this to happen outside of school. Thank you to everyone who has sent electronic cards sharing Christmas cheer on DB Primary. Many thanks, The Rayne School Team

Dear Parents/Carers,

We have had a report overnight that there is a very disturbing post on Tik Tok.  Despite Tik Tok having an age limit we are aware that some of our pupils have access to this.  It is also reported that although the site has removed the initial content, many children may have viewed the post or resent it.  This has clearly affected the well-being of children so please be aware it can pop up if they use a hashtag search.  It is recommended that the content of the post is not searched and parents immediately monitor devices closely to protect children.

Kind regards,

Mrs M Keeling

Any ties that are ordered will be delivered to the relevant child via their classroom. We are currently working through the orders placed over the summer holidays and your child should receive their tie shortly.

10.06.20 Whole School Key Worker Groups:

Following the Government announcement that some children will not be attending the school until September, we have had an increased demand for places for the children of Key Workers. Whilst we anticipated a gradual increase in demand as more employees were encouraged to return to their workplace, this has risen sharply and we are nearly at capacity for most days of the week. Nevertheless, we have been able to facilitate a fourth Key Worker bubble on a Wednesday and Thursday to support working parents.

Should you require a key worker place,we will do our utmost to facilitate your requirements. We would be very grateful if you could liaise with your employer who should be supportive at this time if we cannot offer your requested days. As always, we will work with you in partnership, but flexibility from all parties will help us accommodate the needs of all.

If your flexibility is limited, we advise booking time slots places as early as possible.

We thank you in advance for your understanding.

Please refer to the Maple and Willow class pages for documents that will support you in checking your child is joining correctly if they are in Year 2. If your child is in Year 1 and their letters are currently formed correctly but not joined, you might like to start encouraging them to join, using the guidance on the sheets to support them in getting it correct from the start.

Please note, that this is only intended to support if you require it, and there is no expectation for you to teach your child to join their handwriting if you do not feel it is appropriate for them yet.

Kind regards,

Miss Phillips and Mrs White
