05.11.21 Whole School School Trends Update: Dear Parents and Carers, Please see below information we have received from School Trends.

Price update effective from 22nd November

Over the course of 2021 our suppliers have seen a rise in global transportation costs as well as fluctuations of raw material prices, all largely caused by the pandemic. As such, the overall cost of garments in the UK has increased and although we have managed to absorb many of these increases during the year, we now regretfully have to pass a small increase onto our customers.

As always, we will keep any increases to a minimum and only on the products affected. On average our range will increase by just 5%.

The price changes will go live on 22nd November 2021.

Your new 2022 price list

Order before 22nd November to beat the price increase!

Thank you for your continuing support throughout 2021 and we look forward to working with you throughout next year and beyond.

School Trends, Kind regards, School Office

16.11.20 Whole School Keep Calm and Carry On!:  Firstly thank you for your continued support and adhering to the systems and processes in place to allow our school to remain open to all classes.  As we embark on week 2 of the national lockdown we know that it is becoming ever more challenging to keep positive and resilient.  Nevertheless we must of course all play our part and hope that things will be better very soon.

Please click here to read the letter from Essex County Council which includes the guidance about sports clubs.  As you know we have had to suspend these until after the Christmas break as we do also offer Acorns Wrap Around care for working parents.  We will however, be reinstating the clubs in the Spring as long as restrictions allow. Take care and stay safe, The Rayne School Team

08.09.20 Whole School Online Safety Alert:

Dear Parents/Carers,

We have had a report overnight that there is a very disturbing post on Tik Tok.  Despite Tik Tok having an age limit we are aware that some of our pupils have access to this.  It is also reported that although the site has removed the initial content, many children may have viewed the post or resent it.  This has clearly affected the well-being of children so please be aware it can pop up if they use a hashtag search.  It is recommended that the content of the post is not searched and parents immediately monitor devices closely to protect children.

Kind regards,

Mrs M Keeling

03.09.20 Whole School School Ties:

Dear Parents/Carers

School ties can be ordered on SIMS Pay.  This is our preferred way of purchase at the moment so that we can limit the amount of people on the school site.  If you have not yet set up your account then please post an envelope in our post box when you collect/drop off your child.  Please ensure it is clearly marked with the tie you require, payment and your child's name and class.

Any ties that are ordered will be delivered to the relevant child via their classroom. We are currently working through the orders placed over the summer holidays and your child should receive their tie shortly.

Year 6 prefects will require the silver tie.

10.06.20 Whole School Key Worker Groups:

Following the Government announcement that some children will not be attending the school until September, we have had an increased demand for places for the children of Key Workers. Whilst we anticipated a gradual increase in demand as more employees were encouraged to return to their workplace, this has risen sharply and we are nearly at capacity for most days of the week. Nevertheless, we have been able to facilitate a fourth Key Worker bubble on a Wednesday and Thursday to support working parents.

Should you require a key worker place,we will do our utmost to facilitate your requirements. We would be very grateful if you could liaise with your employer who should be supportive at this time if we cannot offer your requested days. As always, we will work with you in partnership, but flexibility from all parties will help us accommodate the needs of all.

If your flexibility is limited, we advise booking time slots places as early as possible.

We thank you in advance for your understanding.

05.06.20 KS1

Handwriting Support:  We have had some requests for support with handwriting and in particular, joining. It is the Government expectation that by the end of Year 2 children will be joining consistently. Please refer to the Maple and Willow class pages for documents that will support you in checking your child is joining correctly if they are in Year 2. If your child is in Year 1 and their letters are currently formed correctly but not joined, you might like to start encouraging them to join, using the guidance on the sheets to support them in getting it correct from the start.

Please note, that this is only intended to support if you require it, and there is no expectation for you to teach your child to join their handwriting if you do not feel it is appropriate for them yet.

Kind regards,

Miss Phillips and Mrs White
