Remote Education Provision at Rayne Primary and Nursery School
This information is intended to provide clarity and transparency to pupils and parents or carers about what to expect from remote education when it is not possible, or contrary to government guidance, for some or all pupils to attend school. Remote education platforms may also be used for homework or relevant homelearning due to medical conditions or any short or long term school closure where work is still issued.
Will my child be taught broadly the same curriculum as they would if they were in school?
We aim to provide the same curriculum remotely as we do in school wherever possible and appropriate. These are the learning objectives already planned for each year group as part of our usual curriculum. However, we have needed to make some adaptations in some subjects. For example, we may need to alter the focus in practical subjects due to the equipment and materials required.
Accessing remote education
How will my child access any online remote education you are providing?
We will continue to use the platforms that we already use to support learning in school. We use these platforms for home, and other activities to ensure pupils and parents are confident with their use in the event we need to close part of or all of the school.
- If your child is in Nursery or Reception log in to Tapestry at tapestryjournal.com
- If your child is in year 1 -6 log in to DB Primary. The link for this is at the bottom right of our school website home page.
If you do not have a username and password or have problems logging on please contact the school office.
If my child does not have digital or online access at home, how will you support them to access remote education?
We recognise that some pupils may not have suitable online access at home. We take the following approaches to support those pupils to access remote education:
- We may be able to loan devices from the school, parents complete a loan agreement and adhere to this whilst the device is on loan
- Paper work packs may be provided for some families in exceptional circumstances.
